Meghan has a background in fine arts, particularly painting, and art history. She taught English for over ten years and has various certifications in a number of other fields all which play a part in her creation process. Her education and life experiences have greatly influenced her approach to art as she considers herself fortunate for having a variety of mentors who have encouraged her in some way or another. After completing some of her studies in Germany, she was exposed to the volume, history and and expertise of artwork created by the europeans.
Her ‘Flower and Wine’ works are her approach of recreating and revisiting abstract expressionism while her alcohol ink paintings balance her passion for the intensity of abstract expressionism and its explosive movements with the finesse of softer approaches such as watercolour painting. In her flower and wine works, Meghan stains the canvas with wine and uses real flowers. The flowers and wine symbolise memorabilia, add texture and explore her experimentation process. Her other abstracts works investigate psychology and how viewers interpret her works manipulated by their own experiences.
Meghan also practices in other genres, mediums and techniques outside of her normal practice which allow her to complete commissions and further strengthen her skills.
